Dubia Roach Colony
Breeding dubia roaches are very simple. The down side, they are one of the slowest breeding feeders on the market. A dubia roach life cycle varies greatly on so many factors. Food / Water source and temperature's play a large factor in this. They will grow faster at higher temperature's however we found it best to grown them in a cooler environment (our facility stays between 76F-79F). We feel it creates less stress on them and have a better longevity.
We recommended a 3/1 Female to Male ratio. Too many males create competition and fighting between the male dubia. Resulting in males with deformed looking wings.
Having your own dubia roach colony is a great option if you only have a few mouths to feed. If you have a lot of pets you can deplete a colony fast. Make sure the dubia colony is well established before feeding out of it.
